\section{Introduction}  Due to human influence the climate is changing. More extreme weather occurrences like heavy precipitation and extreme droughts have been predicted for the future. To cope with this, worldwide adjustments are needed. However, in some regions this is easier than others. Well established national governments can invest in measures to help their countries. In countries that do not have a well-established government or that lack financial means to adjust, this tasks fall on the shoulders of the countries' population. Furthermore, some issues can only be addressed on local scale. This goes for farming operations in Africa.   For large parts of Africa a decrease in precipitation and an increase in droughts has been predicted. This can shorten the growing period in an area, leading to the failing of crops which could greatly endangers the livelihood of local farmers, and the lives of people in areas that already have problems with food scarcity \cite{Waha_2013}.
