This can be done trough easy systems like intercropping, alley cropping and hedgerow cropping or more complex systems that form a natural forrest ecosystem \cite{Mbow_2014a}.   Trees have many advantages that include water tapping, prevention of nutrient leaching, decreasing carbon in the atmospphere, buffer climatic extremes, change the surface albedo, providing benefits like fruits, fuel and medicinal qualities, and even influence rain pattertns \cite{Mbow_2014a}.
