Day by day I see myself confronted with the same challenging question: "What hinders people to live more sustainably and what can be my contribution to help overcoming the barriers to let them adopt more sustainable lifestyles?" As as a current Master student of \textit{Sustainable Development: Energy \& Resources} at Utrecht University I am excited and passionate to accept this challenge. I am currently devoting my master thesis on food wastage in Dutch households, its environmental implications and behavioural aspects for stimulating change. In the beginning of November 2014, I attended a summer school in Barcelona dedicated to sustainable lifestyles transitions.   In line with complexity being a buzzword, so is sustainability. Its concept is all-inclusive and its boundaries when used in different contexts frequently unclear.   To me, complexity manifests as the challenge for sustainable development for the required widespread adoption of mindful human activities.  In memory of a remarkable course on \textit{Sustainable Deveopment: Integrating Perspectives} by Bert de Vries, I believe that sustaining solutions can only be found with systems thinking.  Aside this background, I am very excited to work together with inspiring colleagues from Eastern cultures in which holistic systems thinking has found its roots already multiple millenia ago.  In concluding, I would like to receive the opportunity to join an inter-disciplinary team working to find inspirations in responding to the following questions:  adaptive systems how to adapt and stimulate adaptive changes from an individual perspective?  models to study the behaviour of people in complex systems?  Behavioural economics and game theory   evolutionary alogoryhmn to understand how sustainable lifestyle practices could be replicated over time  modelling and simulation of sustainability lifestyle behaviour  sustainability  technology, culture individual lifestyles,   I would like to join to gain new insights that help me on my prospective work as a PhD student on behavioural changes and sustainability lifestyles
