I have a passion for food, particularly showing people the value conscious food choices have for our nutrition, social interactions and the environment. In my master thesis as well as my free time I am interest in contributing to solving the global food wastage issue. In doing so, I envision a future in which food is valued to the extent that food wastage no longer occurs.   \subsection{Group Research Summary}  Departing from my passion for food, I am interested in Future Foods Utrecht. This The  centre brings together fundamental research of Utrecht University from health, behaviour, and innovation to collaboratively work on solutions for sustainable and healthy food production. Accordingly, their research is split into three main areas: (i) sustainable innovation, (ii) Healthy Food, (iii) Smart decisions.  Within sustainable innovation, the group is investigating primarily disease prevention through better knowledge on how the immune systems of plants and animals functions, how growth and health of crops, livestock and humans can be improved through profitable functionss of plant and animal microbiomes, how plants and animals cope in a fundamental way with environmental stress related to climate change and how their genetic make-up could be modified to improve their production.   How do specific molecules and proteins in our diet influence health and disease, and how can we improve the nutritional quality of our next-generation crops and livestock for the benefit of human health?  Three research areas: (i) sustainable innovation, (ii) Healthy Food, (iii) Smart decisions.  \subsection{Choice of research subject & group}
