one of the main challenges in the study is the physical limitations of the SDSS. Observations at smaller projected separations are hampered as small separations are difficult to resolve using current SDSS technology. This in turn limits the ability to make solid inferences on the available data.  from our post-merger data we postulate that enhanced AGN activity continues as AGN merge. This postulate is investigated further in Deane et al. (2015).
