SMBH grow by merging with other black holes or by accretion of matter which is the process of attracting mater via a gravitational force leading to a growth of the attracting agent.  Our results show that the merging of quasars induces black hole activity i.e. accretion.  We have produced evidence of that galaxy mergers induce black hole accretion and start formation. There are clear selection effects and biases, however, the more we do this, the more we overcome those.
