Our results show that the merging of quasars induces black hole activity i.e. accretion.   We have produced evidence of that galaxy mergers induce black hole accretion and start formation. There are clear selection effects and biases, however, the more we do this, the more we overcome those. We have observed that mergers increase AGN activity and we can now hypothesise that perhaps the most active AGN today may be the result of the merging of smaller galaxies.
