\section{Introduction}   This project focused on the development of the Google Earth Phidget controller. This involved deciding which Phidget hardware would be required for the project to be carried out, development of the software to use with the Phidget to interact with Google Earth, and the creation of the prototype device layout. We decided upon developing a contoller for Google Earth as the software is incredibly powerful, yet lacks any feeling of feedback to the user. By using Phidgets, we could provide the element of feedback and physical interaction with the system to the user. To do this a number of different Phidgets and sensors were used including circular touch phidgets, sliders and RFID sensors amongst others. These specific phidgets were chosen as they allow optimal usage and feedback of the major features of the software without being difficult to use. The sensors chosen also make logical sense for their respective operations and were therefore implemented in the end product.
