publicly available data (sequence, blog, cultures)  large outreach component including:  - 1.  undergraduate research + first author publications - 2.  high school AP Biology class (hay infusions?) - could this be made more global? i.e. if a classroom wants to do this in Florida can they send us microbes? - key word: citizen science! - 3.  Young Scholars Program - high school summer researcher (Henna was one of these) - 4.  blogging about research (seagrassmicrobiome.org) - 5.  twitter outreach - 6.  the above things, the lab has a lot of experience with (see X, Y, Z ???) - 7.  I lead a workshop at UC Berkeley's Expanding Your Horizons event for 6th-9th grade girls every year on basic genetics and phylogenomics/evolutionary trees (either 3 or 4 years now) & we sent people to Sacramento's EYH to talk microbes this year / Katie and I volunteered last year - Cassie
