Figure 3. The top panel shows the taxonomic composition (at the Family) level Family level)  of each meal, where the bars are clustered based on dietary pattern (i.e. AA, USDA, VEG). In the lower panel, the bars have now been sorted based on each meal's loading for Principal Coordinate 1. Clustering in this way allows easier visualization of which taxa are contributing the most to the overall differences between the meals meals,  regardless of which dietary pattern the meals were from. Because there are too many families to reasonably include in a figure legend, only the taxa discussed with respect to this figure are included in the legend.
