For our smart floor we have chosen passiveMIKROE-295  tags MIKROE-295  (\ref{fig:fig3}). Since they do not require a power source they can be easily placed or, if needed, picked up and rearranged in the room. Their flat card shape and plastic casing also make them robust enough for stepping on without suffering any damage.
