\begin{abstract}  Photon event centroiding and single-molecule localisation share many similarities. Although photon event centroiding hasbeen  traditionally been achieved with simple single-iteration algorithms, it was recently reported that iterative algorithms for single-molecule localisation microscopy produce excellent results when applied to  centroiding photon events imaged with an MCP-intensified CMOS camera. We have applied these algorithms for centroiding photon events from an electron-bombarded CCD, and found that iterative centroiding algorithms produce excellent results. Fitting of overlapping events is also possible with these algorithms, an important aspect which allows an increased count rate and shorter acquisition times. \end{abstract}    \textbf{Keywords:} Single photon counting, single-molecule localisation, electron-bombarded CCD
