\begin{abstract}  Photon event centroiding in photon counting imaging  and single-molecule localisation in super-resolution fluorescence microscopy  share many similarities. traits.  Although photon event centroiding has traditionally been achieved with simple single-iteration algorithms, it was we  recently reported that iterative algorithms originally developed  for single-molecule localisation fluorescence  microscopy produce excellent results works very well  when applied to centroiding photon events imaged with an MCP-intensified CMOS camera. We Here,  have applied these algorithms for centroiding of  photon events from an electron-bombarded CCD, and found CCD. We find  that iterative centroiding algorithms produce yield  excellent results. Fitting results and allow fitting  of overlapping events is also possible with these algorithms, events, a feature not reported before and  an important aspect which allows to facilitate  an increased count rate and shorter acquisition times. \end{abstract}    \textbf{Keywords:} Single photon counting, Photon counting imaging,  single-molecule localisation, electron-bombarded CCD \textbf{OCIS codes:}  (040.3780) Detectors: Low light level,
