Diagonal of the spin up/down occupation matrix for the d-orbitals of the (2nd) Co atom in LDA+U with U=2. Other matrix elements are much smaller.  The number of fluctuating orbitals indicates the number of diagonal elements between 0.3 and 0.7. Rows are ordered by their "slope" in the above diagram. D(Co-Co) is the minimum distance between Co atoms in the system.
