\textit{Carollia} is a genus of fruit-eating bats widely distributed and highly abundant in the Neotropic. These species are crucial for different ecological processes, like seed dispersal and restoration of tropical forests, consequently. Due to their ecological plasticity, are often found on disturbed and transformed ecosystems that are under high levels of pressure.   Currently, eight species are accepted to be part of this genus, and it has been discussed the taxonomic identity of other two.
