\section*{Description}  All plots, data Code for case tree plots  and tables were generated using checkerboard plots are available in  the epipy package for Python, which is available on github. Epipy  relies heavily on the networkx \cite{networkx} and pandas \cite{pandas} packages.Epipy code is open source and available on github.  In addition to the visualizations introduced here, epipy includes a number of functions for common epidemiology calculations, like odds ratio and relative risk. Code A function  that generates realistic example data is also provided. All plots, data and tables in this manuscript were generated using epipy.
