\section{Abstract}  The current work provides an example of EEG data analysis of a simple arithmetic task. This experiment consisted of a paradigm in blocks of six seconds each, alternating resting and tasking periods. The arithmetic calculations (done by one volunteer)needed to be performed  were shown on a computer screen. Data was acquired with a 16 channel system at a 256 Hz sampling rate. To analyze it, we have used MATLAB software and EEGLAB. Data were filtered to be better analyzed at specific frequency EEG bands: delta, theta, alpha and beta. For each band, specific results were found and discussed. We have also compared our results with some studies in the literature.
