\begin{equation}
\label{H2}
H^2 =
2.5\frac{Var(Family) + Var(Tree)}{Var(Family) 2.5\frac{Var(Family)}{Var(Family) + Var(Tree) + Var(Residual 1) + Var(Residual 2)}
\end{equation}
Analysis was conducted in R \cite{R} and JAGS \cite{RJAGS}, utilizing a Bayesian approach to estimate the heritability of growth strain and other wood properties. The effect of coppicing and section were included as fixed effects, while half sibling family and the individual trees are included as random effects. Physically although all specimens were grown on the same site, they were grown during different time periods which was confounded by the originating genetics of the two populations and hence are included as the fixed effect, section. Residuals are modeled separatly for each section. Aproximatly 35\% of the strain data was left-censored, the JAGS function \verb|dinterval| was used to simulate the truncated data, for details see \cite{Ekstr_m_2013}.
