\section{Method}  \textit{Eucalyptus bosistoana} was planted as seedlings into 100 (check this) L planting bags at an irrigated nursery site in Harewood, Christchurch, New Zealand. Two separate plantings occurred in 2010, and in 2012 (months?) The 2010 plant genetics originated from south east Australia and was harvested and coppiced in 2012 and harvested again in December 2014. The 2012 block genetics originated from higher altitudes in New South Wales and was harvested in 2013 (at one year old) old, data not used due to the magnitude of errors induced by small melformed stems)  and again October 2015 (at age two). When harvested each sample was processed for growth strain, volumetric shrinkage, stem diameter, basic density and dry acoustic velocity. Growth strain was measured using a modified version of --kens refs-- whereby only the large end is free to distort (the small end is not cut free from the upper stem and the opening at the large end is measured), substantually reducing measurment time. Bark thickness and stem diameter were measured using digital calipers. Basic density was measured using the displacment method and acoustic velocity via wood spec (--some ref to standard--).   --further discussion on details of the "rapid splitting test"--  Analysis was conducted in R (--ref--) and JAGS (--ref--), utilizing a bayesian approach to estimate the heritability of growth strain. The effect of coppicing is and section were  included asa  fixed effect, effects,  whiletrial,  half sibling family and the indervidual trees are included as random effects. Physically allthough  all specimens were grown on the same site, they were grown during different time periods and for different rotation lengths, which was confounded by the orignating genetics of the two populations  and hence are included as the random fixed  effect, trial. section.  --mathematical discription of the baysian code--
