# Connecting Plotly and Authorea     Adding Plotly plots to your Authorea papers is _this_ easy:     1. Double click on any text element of type HTML or Markdown where you want to add the image, or create a new text element (using the plus button),     2. Make sure the text element is of format HTML or Markdown,     3. Copy and paste the snippet of code from Plot.ly. For example, the plot above was generated adding this snippet:     4. Click Save and Close and you're done!     If you drag your mouse over the data you can see the data points. You can also click and drag to to zoom-in, double-click to zoom-out, and shift-drag to pan. We think this is revolutionary; all in one interface you can access the data, graph, and script used to create a graph, and if you click through, you can save, edit, and copy the script, data, or graph you see below. If we were collaborating on this paper and Plotly graph, we could edit or revise any of this, in real-time. **That is collaboration, as it should be.**     # 2.1 Sharing Data, Graphs, and Notebooks     Below is a graph re-made with data from the UC Berkeley [stats page](http://www.stat.ubc.ca/~jenny/notOcto/STAT545A/examples/gapminder/data/gapminderDataFiveYear.txt), which plays a central role in Hans Rosling's [Ted Talks](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hVimVzgtD6w). You can also see a similar graph in [this IPython Notebook](http://nbviewer.ipython.org/github/plotly/IPython-plotly/blob/master/Bubble%20Chart%20Explorer.ipynb) and a [post](http://blog.plot.ly/post/71637573256/the-power-of-bubble-charts) on bubble charts.
