On the other hand users at ALBA have not yet requested single bunch operation.
{\em BESSY II:}
applies features in the predominant multi bunch hybrid mode three groups of specific bunches beside the multi bunch train. Due to the
importance of these bunches, a filling is distorted, if the requested nominal current for these bunches cannot be met. Thus a distorted filling event starts whenever a 'low-beam-current' criterion for the specific
bunches: bunches applies: it starts below 91\% of the nominal bucket charge in the camshaft bunch
(pump (4mA, pump probe) or the slicing bunches
(fs-pulse (4 mA, fs-pulse intensity) or the 'ARTOF' bunch
(pulse (3mA, pulse picking, resonant excitation).
A In addition
a bunch purity of less than 200 is recorded as a 'distorted-filling' event.
The typical bunch purity is
well above 5000.
At BESSY a qualified even
MB filling
of the multi bunch train is only of secondary relevance:
only in low-alpha mode close to the CSR bursting threshold, all bunches have to be safely non-bursting. Apart from this, the exact filling pattern is negotiated w.r.t. the needs of the user run: STXM experiments see phase jumps induced by high intensity
bunches, bunches and a long ion clearing gap,
also which is needed by the pulse picking chopper;
in low-alpha mode close to the CSR bursting threshold, all bunches have to be safely non-bursting.
{\em Elettra:} has no on-line bunch purity measurement available.
