One special case of the Bowen-York solution (\ref{eq:by_general}) is  that of a black hole with spin only (the ``$S$'' term of  (\ref{eq:by_K_P_S})). This is parametrised by the ADM angular momentum  $S$  where the conformal factor $\psi$ must satisfy the Hamiltonian  constraint. Gleiser et al \cite{Gleiser:1997ng} have found an  approximate solution for $\psi$, accurate to $O(\hat{a}^3)$, where  $\hat{a} \equiv S/M^2$, assuming the angular momentum vector points  along the polar ($z$) axis:
