Fluorescence anisotropy measurements were used for measuring the hydrodynamic radii of intravitreal drugs aflibercept, ranibizumab and bevacizumab. The molecules were labelled with Ruthenium-based dye, whose lifetime in the region of several hundred ns is comparable to the rotational correlation time of these molecules. The molecular radii were obtained from the rotational diffusion coefficients of the molecules measured with time resolved fluorescence anisotropy measurements. The radii of
aflibercept, ranibizumab ranibizumab, aflibercept and bevacizumab were measured as
3.56$\pm$0.03~nm, 3.03$\pm$0.03~nm 2.76$\pm$0.00~nm, 3.49$\pm$0.00~nm and
3.74$\pm$0.02~nm, 4.58$\pm$0.00~nm, respectively, which all agree with calculations based on molecular weight. Anisotropy offers an alternative independent means of determining the size of drugs designed for intraocular use and may better reflect ocular drug diffusion than theoretical estimates of size based solely on MW.
