Rounding up to the next but one power of 2, we find that the maximum FFT size that must be supported by the instrument is $2^{27}$ point (134 Mpt). Counterintuitively, despite the reduced FFT sizes, the computational cost for dedispersion increases as we move to higher frequencies. This is purely due to the larger absolute bandwidths of the higher frequency bands of SKA1 meaning more data that needs to be processed per unit time.
