Rounding up to the nearest power of 2, we find that the maximum FFT size that must be supported by the instrument is $2^{26}$ point (67 Mpt). However, it must be remembered that we are only considering a best-case scattering that is four orders of magnitude less that what is predicted by \citet{Bhat_2004}. If we were to relax this to a best-case scenario that was only three orders of magnitude less than what is predicted, the maximum FFT size drops to $2^{23}$ point, easily achievable on current generation hardware for the numbers of channels that need to be processed simultaneously.
