In the case of the SKA1\_Low DM limits, we assume that users will have the capability to select a specific frequency range for observations, e.g. if the observation band is selected to be 150-350 MHz, then the limiting DM will be defined by a frequency of 150 MHz.   Above the DM limits set by the above requirements we suggest that the pulsar timing instrumentation of SKA1 supports incoherent dedispersion out to considerably higher DMs. To set limits on the DMs that must be supported, we suggest that the SKA pulsar timing instrument need not support incoherent dedispersion for DMs where the intra-channel dispersive smearing exceeds theusers  desired time resolution (aka the \textit{diagonal} DM). The intra-channel dispersive smearing as a function of DM is given by \begin{equation}  \delta t = 4.15 \times 10^3 \left( \frac{1}{\nu^2} - \frac{1}{(\nu+\delta\nu)^2} \right) {\rm DM},  \end{equation}
