This situation has already generated several disadvantages for authors, funding bodies and research institutes:   \begin{enumerate}  \item Only a small fraction of the experimental workflow is actually published, creating data loss and underestimation of the labor done by research fellows;  \item Pressure to publishonly  novel data decreases reproducibilityin science  and increases the amount of unconfirmed work; \item New technologies, usually developed at the start of a research project, arepublished  only after 4-5 years, which in the long run slows published years later, slowing  down scientific progress; \item Disconnect between funding and publication: research is often  funded when most of the work is already done, done  by using grant money from past proposals; \item Research papers become moreand more  complex and specialized, forcing  the peer review processis forced  to a black and white decision; \item Lack of metrics assessing the quality and reproducibility of research.  \end{enumerate}
