%The initial (ground state energy) is subtracted.   The oscillations in the curves reflect the periodicity of the $\mathrm{Cu}$ lattice.   The red solid line shows the energy difference (subtraction of adiabatic energy from the $v = 0.06 ~\mathrm{a.u.}$ curves).   This %This  subtraction eliminates most of the oscillations and isolates the non-adiabatic contributions, and allows for an accurate numerical fit of the slope that allowed us to extract $S_\text{e}$ even at the lowest velocities. The residual oscillation is modeled by fitting a cosine function plus a linear function.  The blue dashed and black dotted lines shows the slope of linear and oscillatory fits of the red solid line   from $x = 5.0 ~\mathrm{a_0}$ (after the transient) to a given maximum position $x$ as a function of this maximum position respectively.
