\section{Conclusion}  In this paper we reported the electronic stopping power of protons in copper. We find that (for channeling) trajectories the electronic stopping power decreases faster than linearly and it becomes comparable to the nuclear stopping according to reported \textsc{Srim} estimates. At the same time, some features related to band structure appear in the low velocity regime, this is in contrast to the simpler case of Aluminum.% Aluminum. It is observed that at low $v < 0.1~\mathrm{a.u.}$ only $s$-electrons in copper participate and above $0.3~\mathrm{a.u.}$ the $11$ electrons ($d + s$) participate.
