UseCase: Activate monitoring system
Actors: Driver, BAP ECU
Description: Use case describes the activation of the system. Whenever the vehicle is placed into reverse gear the BAP ECU is activated. Soon after, the ECU then activates the rear camera, radar sensor and LED Screen.

UseCase: Override warning and control system
Actors: Driver, BAP ECU
Description: Use case that manages the override interaction between the driver and system. The driver may choose to deactivate warning systems by pressing a button to deactivate control. The BAP must deactivate auditory warnings and stop automated control over the accelerator and brakes. Only the camera remains activated and presents a view of the rear in the screen.

UseCase: Initiate warning
Actors: BAP ECU
Description: Use Case that activates warning systems when obstacles are detected and processed by the ECU. If the override is switched on, only the camera activates and displays the feed on the screen.

UseCases: Provide incremental visual warning, Provide incremental auditory warning
UseCase: Provide Incremental visual warning
Actors: BAP ECU
Description: BAP detects obstacles and provides visual warnings to the driver and obstacle. The intensity of the visual warning depends on the distance of the obstacle from the rear of the vehicle and the speed of the vehicle. Following are the stages of visual warning to be provided: a) At a distance up-to the warning kick-in line (WKL), the camera feed is supplied to the LCD Screen. In addition, the rear lights begin to flash in order to alert pedestrians. b) When obstacle is between WKL and the severe warning line (SWL), additional visual warnings will appear on the video feed as determined by the BAP algorithms. At this stage the cabin lights also start flashing.

UseCase: Provide incremental auditory warning
Actors: BAP ECU
Description: BAP detects obstacles and provides auditory warnings to the driver. The intensity of this warning depends on the distance of the obstacle from the rear of the vehicle and the speed of the vehicle. Following are the stages that auditory warnings should be provided: a) As the vehicle nears an obstacle, the ECU initiates sounds of low frequency and volume. Intensity and frequency increase as the vehicle nears the obstacle.

UseCase: Deploy countermeasures
Actors: BAP ECU
Description: When the car is put in reverse gear, the monitoring system activates and the sensors start sending in data. Data from the camera and radar should be analyzed by the BAP to determine the following: a) Presence of an obstacle. b) Location of a possible obstacle in relation to the dimensions of the vehicle and the stage status. c) Determine probability of collision taking into account, vehicle and obstacle speed. d) Provide incremental visual and auditory warnings. e) Slow or stop the vehicle.
