\section{Current Applications}  Leighton-Linslade and surrounding area is embracing the need for Britain's new energy landscape. In fact, it is leading the way and striding towards the net-zero emissions goal that the world is committed to within my lifetime. It has examples of all kinds of renewables available to it, as well as the ability to buffer the variations in their supply.   But further low-carbon capacity is required: both satisfy our current demand (which is still \href{https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/511931/Electricity.pdf}{predominantly met by fossil fuels}) and to supply the planned growth of the town. There is currently an application to install further capacity for onshore wind at an adjacent site in Heath \& Reach. This will again be a large-scale facility making a substantial contribution to the electricity network. More details can be find by searching for \textit{CB/16/01389/FULL} on the \href{http://www.centralbedfordshire.gov.uk/PLANTECH/DCWebPages/acolnetcgi.gov?ACTION=UNWRAP&RIPNAME=Root.PgeResultDetail&TheSystemkey=596740}{planning application website}.
