The term "Biomass" covers a range of energy generation techniques. On large industrial side, \href{http://www.drax.com/biomass/}{Drax power station} burns large quantities of biomass (mainly wood-pellets imported from North America). At the other end, an individual farm can install an \href{http://www.wrap.org.uk/category/subject/anaerobic-digestion}{anaerobic digestion plant}. \href{http://www.variablepitch.co.uk/stations/1808/}{Trinity Hall Farm in Hockliffe} uses maize silage to generate both heat and power.
