To better understand the relationship between tidal forces, stellar activity, and solar-like oscillations, we study a subset of RG/EBs that include binaries with short and long orbital periods (< 100 days and > 100 days, respectively), and red giants that exhibit and lack solar-like oscillations.  In this paper, Section \ref{review} reviews the various observations, global asteroseismology, and dynamic modeling that have been used to derive physical parameters for this subset of RG/EBs. We perform spectral disentangling and fit model atmospheres to component spectra in Section \ref{atmosphere}.  Section \ref{mesa} presents stellar evolution models for each system, which are subsequently used in Section \ref{tides} to quantify each system's level of activity and tidal force strength to investigate how these are linked with the presence or lack of oscillations. Finally, Section \ref{conclusion} summarizes our results.
