This post was written by Matteo Cantiello, a theoretical astrophysicist at the Kavli Institute for Theoretical Physics and Authorea's Chief Scientist. It is intended to be published as a post on Astrobetter.com.  \end{quote}  We are I am  aware that a while back a lot of astronomers have tried out writing their research articles on \href{https://www.authorea.com}{Authorea}, a web-based collaborative writing platform. Some were disappointed by the lack of some advanced LaTeX features (e.g., \href{https://www.authorea.com/users/2/articles/38778/_show_article}{deluxetables, now supported}). You were disappointed, you told us why, and we just implemented some big changes to make you happy. Authorea now supports virtually every LaTeX package when used in has a  "\href{https://www.authorea.com/users/5713/articles/28015/_show_article}{Power LaTeX user}" mode. mode which supports a much much larger subset of LaTeX. Essentially everything. And unlike some services such as \href{http://www.astrobetter.com/blog/2012/03/26/collaborative-latex-writing-a-review-of-scribtex/}{ScribTeX} and \href{http://www.astrobetter.com/blog/2015/01/12/using-writelatex-for-collaborative-papers/}{WriteLaTeX} (previously reviewed on Astrobetter), all your LaTeX renders both to PDF, and to HTML (to the web).  So "Why So, why  should I use you give  Authorea another spin and use it daily  for my research?". your research?  It's a good question. Here some highlights that might guide that decision. \begin{enumerate}  \item With Authorea, your paper is accessible from any computer computer,  anywhere in the world. \item You can write it your paper  from your browser, no installations installation of TeX  required. \item You can write in \href{https://www.authorea.com/5932}{LaTeX} \href{https://www.authorea.com/users/5713/articles/19359/_show_article}{LaTeX}  or in markdown. Advanced LaTeX and tables are now supported. \item Collaboration is made easy. \href{https://www.authorea.com/users/672/articles/17214/_show_article}{Managing Managing  your co-authors} co-authors  is really  straightforward. \item No need for endless emails threads with multiple draft revisions.   \item  Authorea is based on Git and  version controlled. Again, no installations required. \item Want to work offline via Git? \href{https://www.authorea.com/users/3/articles/17235/_show_article}{You can}. Authorea becomes the rendered version so that your coauthors can still work with you without having to learn Git.   \item  \href{https://www.authorea.com/users/9932/articles/12628/_show_article}{Adding citations} has never been easier. One click and done.  Believe me, you will never wanna go back. \item You can include \href{https://www.authorea.com/users/9932/articles/11070/_show_article}{data and code} in your paper. This allows for transparency and reproducibility of results.  \item Export to any journal format with just one click. We support all the usual suspects, from ApJ to AJ, from MNRAS to A\%A.  \item Powerful\href{https://www.authorea.com/users/9932/articles/13560/_show_article}{ commenting system}. For internal or even external review.  %\item No need for endless emails threads with multiple draft revisions.  \end{enumerate}  Ok, enough with the list of fancy features. Here's my personal experience as an astrophysicist using Authorea.
