Let's now agree on the exact expressions for the current operators, with all factors of $\pi$ and $v_F$.  From the fermions we know the charge density operator  \begin{align}  \rho_e(x) &=& e (N_R(x) + N_L(x)) \\  &=& e\frac{-1}{2\pi} \left( \partial_x \phi_R + \partial_x \phi_L \right) \\  \partial_t \rho_e(x) + \partial_x j_e(x) &=& 0 \\  \implies j_e(x) &=&   \end{align}
