\subsection{Location and Orientation} Orientation 墓碑的定向及方位}  一般墓碑定向及方位會根據各自家族的宗教、信仰、風水等不同變數而決定不同的方向，大多的墓碑會因上述等考量採用「面海背山」的定位，方向則不一定。從琅琅上口的兒歌－我家門前有小河，後面有山坡、廟宇的設計－前有池塘後有山、以及人們今日用來比喻強大支援的「靠山」不難得知，會選用「面海背山」的原因是除了擁有好風水外，更希望祖先們能成為子孫的靠山庇蔭子孫。連墓，常見於澎湖的一種墓碑排列方式：墓碑一個接一個整齊的排列於墓地中，其墓碑的定位皆朝自相同方向。特別的是在澎湖的連墓時常是「面山背海」，和風水上的論點相牴觸。「洪門楊氏墓」碑與左右側之連墓所屬的方位就是牴觸風水的「面山背海」。在白沙相同地區其他的「面海背山」的墓碑大多都因強風長時間的侵蝕而無法辨讀。也許也因「洪門楊氏墓」碑特殊的墓碑方位走向，讓她得以保存至今  The tomb is located in the low and flat part of the Zhuwan graveyard, a fact that is shared with other old tombstones in that graveyard, while newer tombstones are located higher up the hill.
