Survival curves depending on the concentration can consequently be determined through the equivalent dose, defined as a RBE-weighted dose:  \begin{align}\label{eq_dose_eq}  D_{eq}(D,\rho) = D \times RBE(D, \rho)  S(D,\rho) = \exp(-\alpha_\gamma D_{eq}(D,\rho) - \beta_\gamma D_{eq}^2(D,\rho))  \end{align}  where $D_{eq}$ is the concentration-dependent equivalent dose and $\alpha_\gamma$ and $\beta_\gamma$ are the experimental LQ parameters describing the survival curve of the cell in the absence of nanoparticles.
