Sample Selection

Our parent AGN sample in \citet{Shimizu_2013} was chosen from the Swift/BAT 58 month catalog1. PSDs were constructed for all AGN with signal-to-noise greater than 20 and visually inspected to determine the viability of further analysis. In the end 30 of the AGN were analyzed using the PSRESP method from \citet{Uttley_2002}, a computationally intensive method for fitting the PSD to account for windowing effects.

Because our main goal is to measure the PSD break using the combination of Swift/BAT and NuSTAR PSDs, we searched the NuSTAR archive for these 30 AGN. 15/30 AGN currently have at least one publicly available NuSTAR observation. The other 15 AGN either have observations that are currently proprietary or have not had a NuSTAR observation. In Table \ref{tab:targets} we list the 15 AGN and their NuSTAR observations along with their AGN type, black hole mass, and bolometric luminosity which were taken from \citet{Shimizu_2013}.

Further we have also identified several AGN in the NuSTAR archive which are bright Swift/BAT AGN and either have long exposures or multiple observations that span a long baseline. These include 3C 120, Mrk 335, MCG -6-30-15, NGC 1068, NGC 1365, NGC 4051, and SWIFT J2127.4+5654. While these 7 AGN do not have high quality Swift/BAT light curves to combine with NuSTAR, the NuSTAR observations probe long enough timescales to possibly detect a break in the PSD. PSD break timescales have been reported anywhere between several weeks to an hour \citep{Gonz_lez_Mart_n_2012}.
