This occurs approximately where the Alfven speed is larger than the radial component of the gravity wave group velocity. Low frequency gravity waves cannot exist because magnetic tension overwhelms the buoyancy force, i.e., the stiff field lines cannot be bent by low frequency gravity wave motion. For a radially oriented field, magneto-gravity waves are evanescent in regions where $\omega < \omega_{\rm MG}$, and $\omega_{\rm MG}$ is the magneto-gravity frequency defined as
