\lambdaE\ln(1+r_{\rm \lambda E\ln(1+r_{\rm D}/d)/\eta$, which we use to calculate $t_{\rm D}$. He finds $t_{\rm D}\sim \ell\eta/E\lambda$ -- whence this simplification?
