I was 10 minutes late to this lecture because in a rare acknowledgement of Australian Rules Football I watching a bunch of ageing men prance around chasing each other and a blown-up piece of leather in support of social equity.

Now I'm listening to this course's witty semi-retired economist, who is of a similar profile biologically to those footballers but different socioeconomically, talking about saving and consumption-smoothing - or as he called it "die with just enough money to pay for one's funeral".
