The zoom-in view of the trajectories of the set size of $S_1^d, S_2^d, S_3^d$ for H1N1 Segment 6 (Seg6, first column) and Segment 7 (Seg7, second column). Two panels in the first row are based on the first biological replicate (E1), and the two on the bottom are based on the second (E2). The thresholds are shown in
a dotted line dash lines for each segment and replicate. With higher noise level, the noise set size is at least as large as the signal set size at each threshold (dotted vertical line). At $d_0$, all but the last panel have signal set of size 1. Panel Seg7E2 shows no signal at the threshold $d_0 = 8.864$.
