obtained using our method are shown in dash lines for each segment and replicate. With higher noise level, the noise set size is at least as large as the signal set size at each
selected threshold (dotted vertical line). At $d_0$, all but the last panel have signal set of size 1. Panel Seg7E2 shows no signal at the threshold $d_0 = 8.864$.
