The small green circles and blue pluses are the $Ht(D_i)$ values and $Ht(N_i)$ values, respectively. Within each replicate, for genome site $i$ that belongs to the signal set, its $Ht(D_i)$ value is highlighted in a large red circle. The dotted lines are the thresholds obtained from our method (see Figure \ref{fig:H1N1Ct_seg67}). The red circles in both panels correspond to genome site S6-822. There is clear separation between S6-822 and the rest of the sites on this segment in both biological replicates. There are a few blue pluses above the thresholds, however, none is consistently high across replicates.
