8 Laser Specification

The system will:

  1. Externally (out of the bath) Load/unload the mandrel and sample sheet via a user interface.

    1. Lock the mandrel and sample sheet securely and safely within the transport system.

    2. Unlock the mandrel and sample sheet once the growth process is complete.

  2. Transport the desired module in/out of the bath.

    1. Transport the chosen mandrel and sample sheet to a chosen position within the bath.

    2. Movement restricted to two degrees of freedom (bath loading, z-axis, calibration, x-axis).

    3. Hold the mandrel in place until the growth process is complete.

    4. Hold the sample sheet in place until a growth measurement is required.

    5. Transport the sample sheet to the measurement system once every six hours.

    6. Transport the sample sheet back to the chosen position within the bath once the electroforming process is complete.

    7. Transport the mandrel and sample sheet to the unload position once process is complete.

    8. Easily mount to the system chassis.

    9. Transport one mandrel and one sample sheet in/out of the bath.

  3. Measure the copper growth upon the sample sheet.

    1. Measure the growth to a resolution of 10-20 µm.

    2. Measure the growth to an accuracy of 1-5 µm.

    3. Measure the growth to a dynamic range of 0-500 µm

    4. Repeat the measurement multiple times to provide an average result.

    5. Measure one point consistently throughout the growth process.

    6. Provide protection against harmful laser radiation.

    7. Output a maximum laser power of 1mW.

    8. Focus the laser to an adequate spot diameter.
