3 . D i s c u s s i o n   Because 40 per cent of our audience had not heard of ORCID (see Fig.2) and 38 per cent responded that they wanted to hear more about ORCID before registering (see Fig.3), we decided to first give a brief overview of ORCID and then devote most of our session to answering the questions from the survey and the audience.  Although there were some disadvantages to being the last speakers before lunch on the last day of the conference (people were eager to eat!), the advantages of being last were greater!
