Questions  1. What plans does ADS have in regard to ORCID?  2. Is ORCID endorsed by ADS? If no, why not? If yes, was there an official announcement?  3. What are your plans for improving the direct ingest into ORCID from different databases? Currently, everyone I help to create an ORCID profile has to use the Thomson Reuters ResearcherID workaround.  4. Who can use this ID, meaning is it only for researchers and scientists or LIS professionals etc.,?  Comments  1. Waiting for the ADS and arxiv to use it before I get too excited about it I am a little worried that astronomers won't want to "buy in". We are going to learn more about the AAS's role and astronomers potential buy-in as a next step.  2. I noticed that several people I looked for seem to have put their names in, but no identifying information - so I still can't figure out if it is the right person. Don't know how you will "nag" people to complete their bio.--  3. http://orcid.org/0000-0002-9488-5553. Haven't yet found how to correct entries.  4. Since my name is pretty unusual -- and unique within the astronomy community -- I have not had a lot of incentive to register with ORCID.  5. It's a great resource for our researchers. At the moment, we have Research ID and Research Gate.  6. We should promote this service even more to our researchers. Only wide-spread knowledge about, and use of, the service will make it a success.  7. I am interested to learn about the possible benefits of ORCID membership for a project I am working in - the Hungarian Scientific Bibliography Database.  Concerns  1. Sustainability is always a concern  This looks like ResearcherID from Thomson Reuters. It must be having other features and many not be as sophisticate as the above. Who can use this ID, meaning only for researchers and scientists or LIS professionals etc., I would surely love to know more about the same.  6/12/2014 5:52 AM   Good luck for your talk about ORCID at LISA VII !! Ciao! ;)  6/12/2014 2:31 AM   I am yet to register for this conference. After confirmation of my air tickets & Visa I will register for the conference.  6/11/2014 2:58 PM   What are your plans for improving the direct ingest into ORCID from different databases? Currently, everyone I help to create an ORCID profile has to use the Thomson Reuters ResearcherID workaround.  6/11/2014 2:55 PM   Just registered, it looks quite interesting, I need some more time to complete my profile and to set it up conveniently. Maybe some question later. See you in Naples next week!  6/9/2014 7:16 AM   It's a great resource for our researchers. I would like to leran more about it. At the moment, we have Reserarch ID and Research Gate. Thanks and see you in Naples!  6/5/2014 4:45 PM   Sustainability is always a concern  6/4/2014 3:13 PM   I am new to orcid -- just joined because you guys are speaking about it. I noticed that several people I looked for seem to have put their names in, but no identifying information - so I still can't figure out if it is the right person. Don't know how you will "nag" people to complete their bio.--  6/3/2014 3:38 PM   Which plans does ADS have in regard to ORCID?  6/3/2014 2:58 AM   Hope to know more at LISA! Carina  6/2/2014 8:59 AM   Thank you for the 'reminder' which came with this survey -- I just signed up for ORCID. We should promote this service even more to our researchers. Only wide-spread knowledge about, and use of, the service will make it a success.  5/29/2014 3:53 PM   Waiting for the ADS and arxiv to use it before I get too excited about it. I am a little worried that astronomers won't want to "buy in". We talked to ORCID about becoming members just yesterday (May 27) for our proposal/grant database. We are going to learn more about the AAS's role and astronomers potential buy-in as a next step. (This is Jill at STScI).  5/29/2014 10:24 AM   Since my name is pretty unusual -- and unique within the astronomy community -- I have not had a lot of incentive to register with ORCID.  5/29/2014 10:16 AM   I am interested to learn about the possible benefits of ORCID membership for a project I am working in - the Hungarian Scientific Bibliography Database.  5/28/2014 11:52 PM   http://orcid.org/0000-0002-9488-5553. Haven't yet found how to correct entries.  5/28/2014 7:31 PM   Is ORCID endorsed by ADS? If no, why not? If yes, was there an official announcement?  5/28/2014 6:31 PM   Its good to know about ORCID and promote between librarians and researchers in Mexico.  5/28/2014 5:50 PM   By a rapid navigation on the ORCID website, it seems a linkedin for researchers, a graphically advanced version of ADS.  5/28/2014 5:33 PM
