"Tangible Meets Gestural" discusses defining new interaction techniques using tokens to explore large data sets. It mentions that physical actions impact thinking and learning in four ways: induction, off-loading, repurposing, and physically distributed learning. (expand on this topic). This paper also mentions the value of learning and thinking is greater when using physical objects. Touching physical objects can help children learn how to count and keep track of their activities.
