Arindam Basu is a Medical doctor and works as a Senior Lecturer in Health Sciences at the University of Canterbury. Arindam graduated as a medical doctor from the Calcutta Medical College (1992) and specialised in Ear, Nose, and Throat surgery (Otolaryngology). He obtained a Master of Public Health (1997) from East Stroudsburg University in the United States and a PhD from Saint Louis University School of Public Health. His research interests span a range of topics related to environmental and occupational health and public and population health in general. He is currently working on genetic and environmental correlates on how individuals access and seek health care.
