James is a lecturer in Restorative Dentistry within the School of Dental Sciences at Newcastle University. After qualifying with a Zoology degree in 2000 and BDS in 2005, James gained membership of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, and England. James obtained his PhD in erosive surface studies in 2012 and subsequently was appointed into the position of lecturer. James is the Degree Programme Director for the MClinDent in Restorative Dentistry, and contributes significantly to the undergraduate, postgraduate and CPD activities of the school. James has an interest in the professional development process and is recognised as a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a Fellow of the Academy of Medical Educators. He also supervises a number of PhD and Masters-level students.
